The multiplication table with 3
For starters, we always divide apples into small groups of 3. This way we can say there are so many heaps or groups in total.
This way you can make the task clear to yourself:
Imagine, for example, that all the apples are distributed among the pupils in a class. Everyone gets 3 pieces. So we divide the whole quantity into heaps of 3 apples.
So now we can start with the task for the multiplication table of 3.
Exercise 1

Simple plus and painting tasks of the 3 series
An important thing when learning the multiplication table with 3 is the fact that we can always write a number of a multiplication table series as a plus task (sum) or as a multiplication task (later we also call this a product or a multiplication).
15 is for example
- 3 +3 + 3 + 3 (plus task)
or
- 5 times 3 (painting task)
Therefore, we practise this in the introduction to this topic of the 3 series, before further tasks repeat this again and again.

Observe the following rules/hints:
- Words can be written forwards and backwards: three = ierd
- Words can be written diagonally.
- the "sharp s" is always written with a "double s": ß = ss
